Silicon Valley startup RedLink, a business intelligence solution provider for academic publishers, didn’t have to look far when it needed specialists to carry out in-depth research into the structure and scope of academic disciplines and to develop a comprehensive and hierarchical taxonomy. RedLink put together a team of experts led by Dr. Virginia Tucker, a leader in online asynchronous LIS (Library Information Science) education, and lecturer at San José State University (SJSU) School of Information (iSchool), to develop the most comprehensive taxonomy of academic disciplines.
